Jeebers, that thing is huge.
I AdBlock sigs that big.
ok nice one ill give it a go, psp is a bit scary when you 1st look at it tho init lol. I managed to pake a gif file lol using 4 photos, it looks kinda good 🙂
Jamie…
You keep using the abbreviation "psp" to reference Photoshop. Most commonly, that abbreviation refers to Paint Shop Pro.
Better to use the more common "PS[version number]" or "PSCS{version number]" so that more people are on the same page with you.
Of course, context is everything, and most folks here will understand that you’re referring to Photoshop. But if you use the abbreviation "psp"on a gaming forum, for exampleif someone asks you what you used to create your totally awesome signature image, without the context like you have here in the Photoshop forum, most folks will initially think you’re talking about Paint Shop Pro.
The abbreviation "PS" also commonly refers to the PostScript page description/printer language, but again, it’s all about context. It’s not nearly as common a discussion, but in a case where you might want to avoid confusion, where both technologies might be discussed in conjunction with eachother some folks have taken to using "PhS" to abbreviate Photoshop, and "PS" to shorten PostScript.
Just trying to pull you fully into the loop.
🙂
On a gaming site people will probably think psp is "Playstation Portable"!
well sos i forgot lol, cheers.
Isn’t a $649 program overkill for a signature?
It would also be for just one photograph.
Since I have it I would use it for anything graphical.
Rob
That one photograph may be printed in high resolution via offset, which Photoshop handles well by allowing an artist to work in CMYK mode. Low resolution RGB forum signatures can be designed in any entry level image editing app from Photoshop Elements (much cheaper than Photoshop) to GIMP (free). So when Jamie says ‘psp is a bit scary when you 1st look at it’ I wonder if the choice of software for the particular intended use was the best option. It is like blowing one’s nose in a silk necktie when a cotton handkerchief will do. There are easier (ie: less complex) apps to use for signatures.
Of course i will use it for photo editing etc, as i said, at the mo i wanted to get to grips with it.
Ive susses most of it out now any ways.
Then you may want to ask (or at least search this forum for others that have already asked) how to find good Photoshop tutorials. The skills needed to make a sig are no different than any other task in Photoshop.
