I wonder whether anyone can advise me please? At a photographic exhibition I purchased an upgrade to Photoshop CS. I isnatlled it, then two days later suffered a major computer malfunction which left me installing everything from scratch on a new hard disc.

I am unable now to install Photoshop CS. It refuses permission. I have written twice to Ado=be, receiving no reply. I tried phoning twice; once there was no reply, the second time a disembodied voice told me they were closed.

Unfortunately my computer malfunctions quite often, so I am used, reluctantly, to have to reinstall. I never had problems like this with Photoshop 7. I have a perfectly legitimate disc supplied by Adobe, but it doesn’t seem to like me! I’m anxious to use it this evening. Is there any way I can get this running? And if this micro packs up again, do I have to go through all this every time?

I now wish I had never bought the program!

What part refuses?
If it refuses activation, you need to follow the instructions and call Adobe Customer Support.

If it "refuses" sometime before that, then you still need to call Adobe Customer Support.

I am unable now to install Photoshop CS. It refuses permission. I have written twice to Ado=be, receiving no reply.

Really?
To what address?
The last time I checked Adobe didn’t have email support (which could explain the lack of response).

I tried phoning twice; once there was no reply, the second time a disembodied voice told me they were closed.

Somehow, I just don’t believe that.

You are installing version 7 first or giving it the previous versions disk when asked, aren’t you?

You will always have to activate it.

Ever thought of getting a new computer? Or is it just the OS you’re using? Which is…?

I now wish I had never bought the program!

I would suggest that it’s not the program and that you’re doing something wrong. Even with activation, you should not have this problem.

I had written to and since it hadn’t bounced back
assumed it was a legitimate address.

Re. phone calls, sorry you don’t believe me, but there we are…. But all is resolved. I managed to phone this time and was given an activation number.

Perhaps I do need a new or repaired micro! My earlier Windows used to crash with such monotony that I had begun to believe that it was par for the course with Windows products!

Anyway, many thanks to those who replied!
