Hi
After troublefree use of ps7 for some time, the program one evening refused to go away. Whatever I did, the program stayed open although minimized. Eventually I closed down the pc but the next time ps wouldn’t start; the spash screen appeared tilling it was reading all the modules but after that it just closed down. I have tried to remove and reinstall the program several times but to no avail!
I’m using Win ME and my virus scan cannot find anything suspicious. What is going on and how do I mend it?

Same thing is currently happening to me in Win 2000 pro. One of the reasons I logged into this news group.

It happened after I did the infamous "upgrade" at Microsoft.com, I was able to uninstall.. but haven’t been able to install any ps sence. Currently using a backup of my old PS 6.0.. and of course it’s murder after all the neat chit I got use to with 7.0.

We shall overcum!

P.S. My next course of action is to reinstall w2k-pro .. and fuk the upgrades…

I think if you check, that PS will not install on anything less than SP3 (maybe SP2).. All the problems were with SP1, so if you upgrade to the latest, or at least the minimum PS 7 needs, you shouldn’t have a problem. As I recall, when using Win2K, the problem was actually with one of the HotFixes, and that was fixed <g> So, if you go for the latest SP you should be alright. 🙂
