Hello everyone. nice to meet you and all.
I have a question, obviously, and thus far I haven’t found an answer to it. I extensively use a graphire3 tablet, absolutely loving it, but I want to change the way you navigate in photoshop.
Actually I wouldn’t mind changing them in all the apps in the creative suite2, but I don’t really use the pen in apps like illustrator and indesign, mostly photoshop. I use CS2

Since the middle mouse button doesn’t seem to be doing much, and I use the pen also in navigating in my 3D app, I’d like to be able to set the navigation in a similar fashion.

middle mouse button (mmb) to pan
ctrl+mmb (move or drag) to zoom in/out

This should somehow be possible metinks, but none of the settings I can find allow me to do just that.

One other thing I would love, but I doubt that’s possible, is to have shift or alt+mmb rotate the view NON destructively, making it easier to draw lines at a weird angle. like you don’t turn the tablet, you turn the window in which you’re drawing. (like not rotating your arm, but rotating the paper you’re drawing on.

Are at least the panning and the zooming possible? If needbe with a script? I find space REALLY akward to use. Especially in a program like indesign, where you edit text on the fly, this is really akward.

I have been searching for this for some time now.
If these things are not possible, then maybe with a script? Otherwise, consider this a feature request.

look in the control panel, some of these sort of behaviors are set by the mouse driver. you didn’t mention what brand the mouse is?

That’s not really my problem. the mouse is not very convenient anyway, if I really need it, I’ll search/disable it’s "userfriendly settings" to get the mmb working as it should. It’s a microsoft mouse.

The problem is that I want to change the way you navigate in photoshop or the entire CS2 creative suit.
I have a graphire3 tablet, and I want to use it’s second sidebutton (button3) to pan. which should be as easy as replacing the panning hotkey in the hotkey options in photoshop.
which doesn’t seem to be listed anywhere, nor do these options allow you to give mousebuttons as input.

Second, I want to use ctrl+graphire penbutton3 to zoom in or out by dragging the pen. If this is not configurable by default, perhaps a custom script is possible? I posted this in the script forum initially, but zero response there. I’d like to have this solved, cause it is kinda bugging me.
