Hi

I need to know how to determine what colours are not used in a specific image. I am sure in one of my tutorials I did this but a long time ago.

I think is was using the mix , add or subtract options on a layer

Please Help

Thanks

One very direct way to determine the important colors that make up an image is by using the Info Palette. Click and drag the cursor across the various objects in your image , and jot down the range of values each object uses.

If you want, you may use curves to see this relationship in more detail. Clicking and dragging on the image will display a cursor showing the range of values "seen" by the mouse. Do this in turn for each channel, and for each of the two or three important areas of the image.

What is left over is the colors that are not important.
