Sorry. Need to educate myself about replying. Both comments sound rational. Have 2 GB memory. What mystifies me most is why the program eats up the memory when it’s not actually in use. Obviously, I don’t know much about the technicalities. May just have to wait for a new computer purchase as this is the limit this one can handle for memory. Thanks again for taking the time to comment.

It should not affect PC speed if it is not running…..if you leave it running but are not using it then it will absorb some RAM and if you have pictures open alot of RAM.
