It isn’t going to be any single factor – for the fastest system all the sub-systems need to be optimized. And this is especially true for large images.

RAM and hard drive capacity. More, bigger, better. Video card not that important with Photoshop.

I like Macs, but Photoshop works just as well (in some ways better) in Windows.
