Errror trying to install on Vista please help

I have adobe Photoshop Elements 6 for vista. When I try to install..it says it installed but right at the end I get a windows popup that says "microsoft windows Adobe Photo Downloader 4.0 component has stopped working"…

The icon is on the desk top, however when you click on it I get a message that says the sidebyside configuration is incorrect!

ugh? Can someone help. It would be very much appreciated.

The only help I can offer is to GET RID OF the Vista. Vista is notorious for screwing up the computer in such a fashion that even well established programs won’t work, and unless written for Vista, THE OLDER PROGRAMS TAKE A SERIOUS DUMP…
