Using Photoshop CS2 for Windows.

I have a sliced image, and I want to save all the slices as .png files. But no matter what sort of settings I choose in the Save for Web dialog, as soon as I get to the "save optimized as" dialog, the only file type available is gif. Is there something I can do so I can save my slices as pngs?

I also wondered if there’s any way to use "save for web" to save the whole image, without any slices.

Never mind the first question. I finished saving the files, and even though the dialog box said it would save them as gifs, the actual output was png.

I still would like input on my second question, however–can you use the Save for Web program to save the entire image without slices?

Thanks!

Yes, if it’s not too large.

If you have already Sliced you need to go back to View>Clear Slices first. If you want to preserve the slices make a snapshot of the History State before Clearing (or just undo).
