My cursor is driving me crazy! Using PS CS3:

Adobe Photoshop Version: 10.0.1 (10.0.1×20071012 [20071012.r.1644 09:30:00 cutoff; r branch]) Operating System: Windows XP
Version: 5.1 Service Pack 2

Sometimes it will be fine, then after I try and open up a file and start working on the image it just freaks out. Blinking back and forth between the tool I’ve selected and the arrow. Then I have to click on things 2 or 3 times to get it selected.

Also has a real problem opening up multiple files. In CS2 I could just grab a file, drag to the Windows tool bar (activating PS), and let go of the file in Photoshop to open it up… but CS3 is even having trouble doing that. Sometimes the files will open and sometimes they won’t.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do you have a Wacom or similar tablet? If so, is the pen located far enough away that it won’t interact with it?

I’m having the same issue on my iMac using Leopard. I thought is was because I am using a wireless mouse and keyboard. This is very frustrating. I guess we can assume that it is a Photoshop issue and not a Mac vs PC issue.

I had the same problem where the cursor would flicker while using Photoshop CS3. By accident I deleted one of my latest brushes and it went away! I reinstalled the brush and it came back. Tried this on another computer with a fresh install of CS3 and it did it there too. The brush was called "Worn_HighRes003.abr" A fantastic brush, but it clearly made my cursor wig out and become unusable.

Try unloading one brush at a time (start with your recent additions) and see reload PS each time to see which one did the trick. I know it worked for me.

If that doesn’t work, try unloading/deleting your plug-ins. Someone somewhere mentioned an Alienskin plug-in as a culprit for them. I have a couple Alienskin plug-ins and that doesn’t seem to affect PS CS3.
