I bought a new laptop just before Christmas. I went out and downloaded the trial version of CS3 a couple weeks after getting the computer. When i got the computer, I bought Norton Internet security. I installed the security program and had issues with the software not properly registering. I worked with Norton and the tech guy had me roll back the date on my calendar because it was saying my Internet Security had expired. I finally got the Norton stuff registered and operating. However, the next day when I went back into my CS3 trial, I got the "CS3 has stopped working and will shut down" error. I still had about 7-10 days left on the trial. Now I want to buy the software. I was planning to buy it from their site and enter the product key (at least I assume that’s how it works.) However, everytime I go into CS3, I get the error and it closes. Where am I suppose to go to register it since it never allows me to enter it? I’ve uninstalled the program and re-installed it, but it still happens. I don’t want to buy the software and get stuck with it if I can’t get it to work. Any ideas?

Unfortunately, I’m running Vista. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

With the possible exception of the anti-virus, Norton products are garbage. They’re resource hogs that do way more damage than anything they could possibly fix.

Peter Norton must be cringing at thought of what Symantec has done to his name.

Honestly, I could care less what Peter is doing.

Any help with the CS3?

Don’t you mean you could not care less?

Clean the junk of the machine…and at this point that may well mean CS3 and reinstall the purchased version.

Try uninstalling and use this program to clean out the remaining files http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cs3clean.html
Reinstall and give it a try.
