Out of nowhere my CS3 extended version will lock if I try to open a file. The file open dialog will flash on the screen then disappear. The menu bar will usually gray out and clicking on any option gets me a ding but thats all.
I must use the task manager to close the program. When task manager opens it does not say not responding it says running.
I have reset the preferences I have tried to use a old restore point but the procedure fails I think because I recently install a windows vista auto update that cannot be uninstalled.
My version is 10.0.1 but I tried downloading a reinstalling the lastest up date but it made no difference.
If I open a raw file then take it to CS3 I can work on it and save it but cannot open any other files It seems the trouble is confined to the open open as dialogs. Seems to go into a loop of some kind.
I am using Vista with 4 gig of memory.
