Hello. I am running Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit. I had no issues installing Photoshop CS3 but I do have one issue.

Every time I open ANY image, the program will stop responding for a little while (depends on image size, but usually a minute) and then will start to work again with the image loaded. This is a major inconvenience especially when loading multiple images.

I doubt the issue is my computer’s hardware as it is still fairly new (built it in August 07), and is still quite good.

EDIT: Also I have tried running it as administrator and in compatability mode, neither of which worked.

set your system default printer to be something local to the machine.

Indeed it would be nice if that were fixed, but it’s such a hit or miss thing I suspect it’s not going to be all that easy to do.

I have a network printer as my default and don’t have any problem at all.

Well it’s something that changed between CS2 ad CS3.

That’s easy enough then! 😉

it has to do with tying the print settings to the image rather than the app. remember previous versions had this problem (when the problem occurred) only at startup, now as print settings have been tied to the image, the bug(?) has been carried forward and now occurs each time a problem file is opened.

WHY SHOULD PHOTOSHOP CARE IF A PRINTER IS ONLINE OR EVEN IF IT EXISTS BEFORE THE USER ASKS TO PRINT IT? that’s the problem.
