Hi!

I have almost 80 MB psd file made in CS2 (I’m giving the file size just for case it’s important :)), and my CS3 Extended crushes always when I’m trying to open that file. CS2 opens it smoothly, but CS3 crushes and gives this info:

AppName: photoshop.exe
AppVer: 10.0.0.0
ModName: msvcr80.dll
ModVer: 8.0.50727.762
Offset: 00008a8c

I googled those informations, but with no good effects. The only thing I have found and tried is updating photoshop to version 10.0.1. but there’s no update suitable for my language (polish). What else can I do? Please help :/

Regards – Micz

I work on:
************
WinXP SP2 (polish)
Intel Core2Duo E6600
4GB RAM

MacBook Pro 16” Mockups 🔥

– in 4 materials (clay versions included)

– 12 scenes

– 48 MacBook Pro 16″ mockups

– 6000 x 4500 px

I’ve tried updating Logitech’s SetPoint software from version 2.0 to
4.4, but that didn’t help. The only change after this actualisation is
status bar shown while opening my file. At the end of opening process, again well known shitty close-application-window shows :). Does it mean, that I have to say goodbye to my Logitech Cordless S510 Keybord and Mouse Set? Or to CS3?
And if Logitech couse this problem, why then other CS2 files can be opened by this CS3 without crash, when Logitech drivers are still running?

also try disabling hardware acceration for graphics card

How can I do that? I’ve searched my Nvidia control panel without any results… Maybe I have no acceleration? (My card is GeForce 7600 GS)

and the old standby

I don’t understand this phrase. My english is not so good :/ so maybe You could explain me what "old standby" stands for? I would be greatfull

delete your prefs file as per the help instructions.

I have tried this, but it didn’t help :/

What else can I do? Thanks in advance. Regards – Micz

Can you work without CS3?
Can you work without a cordless mouse/keyboard?
Try using a wired mouse/keyboard and if you problem goes away, you know what might have been causing it.

Something in CS3 (but not CS2) is not happy with the drivers?

One that can always be relied on, as in an emergency.

Your English is not good? You write it better than a lot native speakers I know.;)
It is also a lot better than my Polish 😉
delete your prefs file as per the help instructions.

I have tried this, but it didn’t help :/

Did you see the dialogue box, if you didn’t you didn’t delete them.
What else can I do? Thanks in advance. Regards – Micz
