Apparently, according to someone who posted a response to the same question last week, you need to uninstall a number of fonts from your Windows/Fonts folder. Do that. Reboot. Try again.

Yes, I tried that before and it didn’t help. I remove over half of the fonts and still will not load.

Does anyone else reading this have another suggestions.

What? Isn’t the right answer good enough?

I ran into a similar situation a while back (though with InDy & Photoshop) …. it’s possible that your Windows/Adobe registry is messed up.

Is PM the only Adobe product you have loaded? If not, if you have several other Adobe apps loaded and the "owner" info is different on each one, it’ll pop an error. In my case, I used my company name on one registration and my name on another and it confused the registry. They do that, I think, to curb people using their apps illegally. For me, once I went into the registry and changed all the "owners" to one name, it fixed the problem.

I figure it’s at least a look?

(WHY are you xposting to illustrator and photoshop groups?)

Because PM is long out of date and most of the help I have received in the past came from these other Adobe groups.

Remove ALL but the system fonts (arrange by date helps you see which is which) and see what happens.

Thanks. I just now tried that and same result.

PM7 was released only because 6.52 wouldn’t run on XP. So maybe 7 won’t run on older Windows, 500 fonts or no fonts.

PM7 runs fine on other machine here with Win98SE

Are you one of those guys who gets the "latest" version no matter what?

LOL!! Yeah, that’s why I’m using 10 year old programs! :O)

BTW, get a font loader/manager. It is insane to have 200 or 2,000 or 6,000 fonts loaded and in memory all the time. I recommend the one from Moon Software.

Will check it out after this problem is fixed.
