When I select save for web and enter the file name it always comes out shorter then what I named it. Is there a way to fix this.

TIA

After clicking ‘save’, a window appears where you select the filename. Select "Other…" in the third pulldown labelled "Settings:". Under the "File Compatibility" section, uncheck the box for ‘Mac OS’ and check the box for ‘Unix’.

Changing this setting affects the saving of all filenames, not just those saved for the web.

When you save for web, the popup request entry of the File name, Save as type, and Settings. If you select OTHER rather than DEFAULT SETTING under the settings options, you will open another window. In this window under File Compatibility you probably have Mac 9.x (truncated to 31 characters) and Unix compatibility boxes checked.
