Does anyone know if Photoshop CS3 will import a Photopaint .cpt file. We are thinking of switching from Photopaint to Photoshop & have a large number of files that we would still need to have access to. There are way too many of them for us to open each one in Photopaint and then export as a psd.

Thanks

Why not leave PhotoPaint installed and when you do need to work on an image just open it and save as PSD?

Most of these files are source files for graphics used in training development. A lot of the courses may only come up for revision every 5 yrs or even longer. I don’t see our IT folks wanting to support Photopaint once it’s not in regular use any more. Plus, we are trying to standardize all of our software to cut down on costs.

I haven’t use PP in years. Can it batch convert graphics?

Look at IrfanView it supports .CPT and does batch conversions.

Unfortunately all the images aren’t readily available due to the fact that they get archived offline and then restored when we revise the training. That makes batch processing pretty much impossible. I was hoping to be able to open them as-needed by just importing them into Photoshop.
