Hi Guys and gals

As subject says, the Adobe website seems to state this is a no go but just looking confirmation before the wallet gets hit a little bit more.

Thanks

Brendan

Unfortunately if you do not have a version of Photoshop that is preactivation, CS or earlier, the CS3 upgrade disc will not install. There should be a legitimate used market for those older versions of Photoshop however and the price of that used copy and the CS3 upgrade would likely be less than the cost of the "full" version of CS3. If you are using Elements 2 you may be happier with the more reasonably priced newest version of Elements which is said to finally include curves –I read this, I have not used Elements in years. Also I believe that the raw converter covers the same cameras in both Elements and CS3 but you should check that out.
CS3 is awesome but the price it commands, particularly for the uses to which most amateurs put CS3, is really not worthwhile compared to Elements or Paintshop Pro. Unfortunately once you familiarize yourself to any degree with CS3 nothing less will do.
Since Adobe obviously sells oodles of CS3 discs at its current OPEC style pricing Adobe has no incentive to lower the price.
I just hope in CS4 they totally ditch the raw converter and have raw files open on the main desktop with the raw controls moved into the main program where they belong.
