Is there a way of saving your current preferences?

Photoshop CS3 Classroom in a Book wants me to reset my preferences. I want to be able to restore my mess when I am done.

You reset/delete your preferences to get youself out of a mess when they become corrupted.
After deletion a new set are created.
Saving them to reapply later (no point in deleting them in the first place) is the last thing you should be doing, but as there is no accounting for taste they can be found in C:\Documents and
Settings\"username"\Application\Data\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS3\Adobe Photoshop CS3 Settings\Adobe PS CS3\

Yes, found the files, made backups.

Yes, I understand what you are saying.

I believe that should be:
C:\Documents and Settings\"username"\Application Data\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS3\Adobe Photoshop CS3 Settings\Adobe PS CS3\

Thanks.
