The third time I think it was more. Reinstall the printer again and again. the problem was when I updated the driver with optional download in updates that came from microsoft. Don’t do it if you have a Dell 944 Printer.. Photoshop doesn’t like it.
Scan to file with the scanner software and open in Photoshop.
I just had a similar problem—PSCS3 crashing when invoking Twain for an Epson 2400 scanner, which had been functioning for several years. The following Epson Help suggestion worked for me:
Start > Control Panel (in category view) > Performance and Maintenance > Administrative Tools > Services (double click) > Windows Image Acquisition Service (rt clk) > STOP.
Then rt clk Windows Image Acquisition again and left click START.
reese: lesson learned, never download the ‘optional’ updates from MS, you now have a spaniard in the works. you would need to clean out the registry after uninstalling the print drivers and before reinstalling the driver from the Dell site, or the original driver you were using.
Can’t exactly remember what I did but I think it was the question when I was installing the printer do you want to use the udated drivers recomended I said no. the printer was installed and Photoshop worked and the scanning under file import from Dell 944 worked again. So my problem is solved. I stay on these kind of things have to get things working perfectly.
Yes I did go back to the Dell site and downloaded the original drivers for the printer. I believe it was saying no to the uptated driver that solved the problem.
you now have a spaniard
erm… 🙂
(spanner?)
gee dave, thot you wooda’ got that.
Okay I’m a dummy I’m have to assume a spaniard is something I don’t want on the system. Some one give this guy a hint.
wow. guess i shoulda. never heard of that book. cool.
Hey Dave,
You should remember that John is very knowledgeable about the Beatles. He even "knows" why they broke upÂ…
Q
john sent me some beautiful british issued commemorative beatles stamps a while back. he’s an A-Number-One kinda guy! 🙂
Reese: "A Spaniard in the Works" is a book by John Lennon and it is a play off the saying "A spanner in the works" which indicates something is interfering with normal operations.
Very good, I was making an assumption of that, but didn’t understand the referances. Know I get the compination on Lennon Spaniard and Spanner. Didn’t read the book, I’m sure it was Interesting.
