UNINSTALL AND REINSTALL PHOTOSHOP?

After almost a year of using CS3 I am told by photoshop today"You cannot use, you must uninstall and reinstall before using. It does not mention a license issue as I have seen in many post..do I really have to do the reinstall?

did you reboot and try again? failing that did you reset the preferences?

Thanks for your prompt reply Dave. I did reboot but did not try reseting the preferences but will do that tomorrow…I did not think of doing a reset for this problem but will try that. Thanks again.
