Using psd file on a PC that was created on a MAC computer

I just realized I am using CS and the files were created on CS2.I am getting these files through email. Will getting them on disc keep the layers intact.

She may have layers that are Smart Objects created in CS2? Those would have to be rendered to open in CS. In that case burning to a disc would not help. Contact her to see if she is using Smart Objects, and if that can be worked around.
Regardless, I would never trust a PSD file as an email attachment. Have her FTP or zip it.
