I have a 800×600 psd which has 19 layers, I would like to use the animation feature of ImageReady to do a build from the background layer building up to layer 19 with each successive layer reveal remaining visible on the collage. Any help in this direction will be appreciated. I know I can create this effect by turning off all layers except bkg and create a jpg of each reveal but there has to be a better way!

Thanx

You cannot create an animated JPEG. In ImageReady, open the PS file and then in the animation palate "Make Frames from Layers". The palate will fill with the layers. Then working from left to right on the created frames, click on the ‘eye’ in the layers palate to control what frame(s) are shown. You can also delete frames there (without hurting the layers).

Save optimized and you have an animated GIF file.

It’s a pretty good system. You have a lot of control, and I find the layer blending options very helpful.
