I just upgraded from PS7 to CS3 Extended. I am playing with an image getting used to new tools. I try to add a test layer, it show that I created a layer and I can see the text on the right side layers palette but not on my image. I am lost. Gradient layers show up, as will solid layers and filters etc. Please help

Is your text layer hiding below your image layer? If so you need to move your layers around so the text is on top.

Scooter,

Check that the colour of your text is not the same as your background colour.

Also check the ppi properties to see if it’s not something ridiculous like 1 ppi. Make it 95 ppi with resampling off.
