I am working with photoshop cs3 windows ultimate vista adn an intuos 3 tablet and I experience heavy lags while drawing like the brush-strokes don’t quite follow my moves, and I have to wait for them to catch up.
When I open a large file and I try to execute the first brush stroke the cursor screen disappears for a while and photoshop is not responding.
Then I can start to work but only after few accurate brush stokes photoshop stops responding for few more seconds and when it restarts I can hardly control the direction of my new brush strokes.
The only remedy to this is when I toggle between the layers. After this exercise I can use four five mour brush strokes then photoshop stops working again. I toogle between the layers and I can do some more work again.
Any idea about what could be behind my problems!?
(These problems started after last week immediately after re installation of vista on my machine, I never had this problem with vista photoshop and intuos on that same machine before!)
Thanks
Mario

Thanks Curt I will
I think the brush lag is only one manifestation of the problem. For example I noticed that the Previews Panes in Bridge CS3 2.1 break up, and you can see through them the folders sitting on my desktop!

In my case with Vista and Bridge I have to "restore down" to get the preview pane to work properly. In maximize mode I see multiple layers of bridge and no preview until last layer.

I have CS3, Vista Ultimate and an Intuos3 tablet. No lags or delays now. But I used to have them and many were reported on the Wacom Users Forum when Vista first came out. I can’t remember now what the fix was – have a look on the Wacom Users’ Forum. If you had it running ok on your previous Vista installation some software setting must have changed in the new installation. Things that may help are:

get latest Nvidia vga card drivers (if you have an Nvidia card); get the latest Wacom driver; Logitech Setpoint software conflicting – the latest is ok for me; disable/switch off the Vista Pen and Input device.

Sorry, I can’t remember the fixes but they should be available if you dig around in the Wacom Users’ Forum.

Thanks to everybody here…I will keep searching…and playing with different solutions and tips! (Curt what you mean with "restore down" Bridge is not 100% clear to me, but I m sure in a bit of time I will make it out.)

Shirley65 – In upper right corner the look at the – (minimize) sq.(maximize)or double square (restore down) and X (close) boxes. Hover cursor over them to tell you whether you can maximize or restore down. Restore down allows you to vary the window size on the screen.
