I have two compositions that I’ve been working with in CS2 on my laptop running XP pro 32bit and when I transfer the files to my workstation at home running XP pro x64, I have issues with the file. If I try to use the eraser or the brush tool, nothing happens. Is this a bug with x64 or do I need to change some settings? I just recently upgraded to x64 for the increased RAM capabilities and this is the first time I’ve tried to use CS2 since upgrading. Any suggestions?

Not supported. If you want 64 bit computing then I recommend Vista 64 with CS3. CS4 will be native 64 bit and will be supported only under Vista.

I use my workstation computer for other software that isn’t compatible with vista as of yet. Is there any way to use CS2 while having x64 installed. I realize I can create a dual boot system and log in and out depending on what software I need to run, but it’d be nice to avoid that. Is there some sort of 32 bit emulating software that will run with x64 and allow 32 bit apps to run properly?

people here have said they were, but as bob said, it’s not supported, so you’re going to have to do some digging… start with the forum search for "cs2 xp64" and see what comes up. if nothing relevant, start googling. i’ll bet you can make it work.

Thanks. Since my last post I’ve researched Microsoft’s site. I’ll dig a little deeper and see what I come up with. Thanks again for the suggestions.

It may not be "supported" but we’ve been running just fine at the school here. We’ve had CS2 and CS3 both on XP64, and I’ve had both on Vista64 and they run fine.

Do you have the same problems with a file you create under XP64 or is it just with files you move over from a 32-bit system?

Files I created in 32bit & 64bit behave the same.
