Is there a way to create a color library file?

The color libraries are accessible from the "Color Picker"’s "Color Libraries" section.

The file format or the color libraries is the .aco format and the files are located here: \Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS2\Presets\Color Books

Is there any way to create that type of files?

I know I could create color Swatches, but I really need them to be accessible from the Color Picker.

PS is not really good at that, the best way to do this is create a swatch file in another app like Illustrator where you can delete/add swatches easily. Save that out, then load into PS swatch palette. Once you have even a basic swatch file, you can add to the file using the foreground color. Still better done in another app, even InDesign.

Hi ID. Awe,

Thanks for the reply,

but as I said in my message, I know I could do a simple swatches file (in fact I already have a swatches (.aco) file of my colors), but what I want is to have them available from the color picker. When you go in the color picker, under the Cancel button, there is a Color Libraries button. That’s where I would want my colors to be, at the same place where the Pantone colors are located.

It’s an important part of the project I’m working on right now to be able to access my color library from the color picker.

Let me know if you have any solution for that.

It MAY be possible to create .acb files somehow, although I wouldn’t know the answer to this. Maybe titling a thread "create ACB color book file? is this possible" might be more likely to find your answer
