Double Cursor – Hand, Magnifying Glass etc

I posted the same problem on 4/30, but wasn’t able to resolve it. But I just figured it out last night. I, too, have a high resolution screen but changed the display settings to try and get larger toolbars, etc. (didn’t work). In any case, I changed everything back last night and the double cursor is gone.

What helped me was to remember what changes I had made to the settings at about the same time the double cursor thing happened. I added the tablet (why I thought it was the cause) but at the same time also tried to make the desktop a little more reader friendly.

Thank you so much for your posting. I, likewise, trying to make my 24" monitor more readable, increased the dpi setting to 170. After reading your post, I lowered the setting to 144 dpi. The double cursor problem disappeared!

I would still like Microsoft’s explanation as to "why"…

The only sure way to make an LCD display properly is to run it at its native resolution and not make any further "adjustments."

Speaking of Microsoft and Adobe… over in the Premiere video editing forum there has been some discussion of the MS Intellipoint mouse driver causing problems (I don’t use that mouse driver, so don’t remember the details)

If you are using MS Intellipoint, you might switch to the generic mouse driver installed by Windoze to see if that helps
