Advanced Photoshop Action Needed

Hey guys,

I would like to make an image resize action that will take any size image and re-size it to 200px X 200px without over cropping the image or distorting the proportions? Is this possible or am reaching for the heavens?

No, you trying for the mathematically and physically impossible. You can’t change the aspect ratio without distorting or cropping.

What you can do is fit an image within set height and width but it will leave spaces if it has different dimensions.

I think the Photoshop CSI version rewrites some of the laws of physics, so this may be possible if you work for a government agency. 😉

It either rewrites the laws of physics or the keyboard where CTRL-ALT-Z is being pressed repeatedly is off screen somewhere.

You can do a MAX 200×200 pixels via File>Automate>Fit Image, but it wont change the original aspect ratio.
