Well to put it simply I need to paint something related to my cold war class on my teacher’s wall (already covered in many cold war events) and he suggested that I make the image into a silk screen to make it easier to paint. I have absolutely no talent in painting so I decided to give it a try. I then proceeded to try to figure out how to do it, as well as find an image that would work well with it. I am not asking for someone to do it for me, but I was hoping someone could tell me how I would go about making this image into something more like a silk screen (or anything easier to paint)

If there is already a topic describing this process I am sorry, I did not see it. To those who can and do help thank you for your time, and to those who can’t help thank you for at the very least reading this post.

This is failrly low tech, but should work OK:

Make a slide or overhead transperncy of your image, and project it on a piece of window screen the size you want your final image to be. While the image is projected, paint over the dark or light colors (depending on the color of the wall and the color of the paint you will be using) with glue, rubber cement, gel mediumm, or some other sort of frisket.

You dont even have to use a projector: just print your image on graph paper, and do your frisket painting on a scaled-up grid.

When the screen is dry, put it up against the wall, and go over it with a can of spray paint.

Thanks to my old friend Erich for this; hope he’s doing well.

well thats similar to the plan already. he is planning to use the projector to display it on the wall then we trace it in pencil then paint it. what I meant was to make it look like a silk screen so that I can trace and paint it.

that helps a lot thank you, but is there a way to do it with a different color? like for example making another layer for the fire in the picture? so that it doesn’t simply appear white?
