hi i have the new
t7400 – intel xeon (2.83 ghz,2x6mb, quad core)
8gb quad channel fbd memory
300gb hd

adobe photoshop cs3 keeps crashing every time i try to copy illustrator vectors directly to photoshop. It just freezes(photoshop and illustrator only)the rest of applications work fine without any problems.

recently it takes ages just to start a new photoshop document (file>new)

please help
as this is delaying me from completing client work.

(I HAVE ALREADY)
– installed valid windows updates
– allocated virtual memory
– installed adobe updates
– run a virus scan
-installed fonts lately (but the ones that are being used by several other users)

kind regards
surf

first, if you have a network printer set as your system default, change that to be a local printer (even if you have to install a driver for a non-existing printer).

Considering the title of your thread, I’d think you’d try it rather than waiting for an explanation.

How exactly are you copying these vectors. Normally you should import them through File>Place.

that’s the major thing that the local printer assignment is supposed to fix. did you set up a local printer, assign as system default then end and restart photoshop?
