Okay. After installing all the mousetraps, I uninstalled the printer, reinstalled the drivers, updated them and started CS2. INCREDIBLY, I can create new documents and open others without a hitch! Yes, indeed, GOOD CATCH, CHARLIE!

But can someone explain to me why CS2 got all snotty about the printer all of a sudden?

Oh, btw, I’ve already caught one cartoon mouse, one spongebob and an eyeball on legs.

Martha: There are a lot of print issues with PS, they’re scattered all over the place and no one really has an answer.

hi, i’m new here…

I had been using my photoshop cs on my new vista (home premium)desktop (dell xps 730). Everything was fine for 1 month when suddenly, (today) photoshop couldn’t get past the splash screen, (the loading presets part). Is there anyway to fix it? I’ve tried reinstalling, but still does not work.

Thanks in advance.

Try resetting your preferences as described in the FAQ.

<http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.ef4a07f/1>

You either have to physically delete (or rename) the preference files or, if using the Alt, Ctrl, and Shift method, be sure that you get a confirmation dialog.

This resets all settings in Photoshop to factory defaults.

A complete uninstall/re-install will not affect the preferences and a corrupt file there may be causing the problem.
