Adobe Updates – CS3

Hi everyone,

Can you set up how to handle Adobe updates in CS3 so that you are informed about the updates but can choose when to install them? I recently downloaded the trial version of CS3 and today it updated a number things automatically. I would rather have the option to update and install on my preference.

Go to the Help Menu. Select Updates…
When the updater finishes checking for updates, you will have an option to select Preferences. You can choose to have it behave as you desire. But you probably needn’t worry about any more updates this late in the product cycle, barring a security disaster or something like that. Trez

However, if you disable it in Preferences you will be spared the hassle when it looks all the time. And Adobe’s automatic updater is erratic to the point of being broken.

If there are updates on this or later versions they are always available on the web site.

Is there also a way to remove the button "Updates" from the help menu? Now users are still able to see the "updates" button. It would be nice if it wasn’t visible anymore.

Turn off the eye icon for that command in Edit > Menus.
