I have a customer that does a front and back newsletter in photoshop.

They use 100% black and 100% magenta and save it as a .psd. (They don’t have no other layout programs)

How can I put it in an IndesignCS2 or quark document and separate it into 2 colors?

Your prompt response is appreciated!
Thank You

In InDesign just use File>Place

You should have your client save the file as a Photoshop PDF. If you place the PSD file in InDesign everything will be rasterized.

I saved it has a pdf and placed it and it still comes up with all CMYK colors – I just need the 2 colors only to show up – I did the same thing for the psd – I even check the file and the black is 100% black and the magenta is the 100% magenta.

Open it in Acrobat and check the separations preview there.
