Hi. Working in Photoshop 7.0
Acrobat 5.0
Reader 8.1.2

I made a .psd. I flattened layers & brought down the resolution & made a .jpeg out of it. I put the .jpeg into Acrobat, then saved as a .pdf. I printed the .pdf from Acrobat & the page came out like the colors were excluded (kinda like that transparency option in Photoshop). The page came out pretty much black printed from Acrobat. If I print the SAME .pdf in Reader..it prints great. Why does this happen?

You might be thinking I am making too many steps.
The reason why I am making a .jpeg instead of just making a .pdf straight from Photoshop..is that the color appears to be different when it is from Photoshop..still good, but slighty off compared to the .jpeg>.pdf.

Thanks.

Jules

It almost sounds like your Acrobat print dialog was set to print colors as black. Be sure that option is not checked.

Hi. Not sure where that option is, but I am still having no luck. I changed the Color profile to match the other color settings I have in other progs. to US Web Coated (SWOP) v2 under the advanced section of the print dialog.

Apply working color spaces is checked under the advanced section also.

I thought that would do it..darn

I don’t have that option. I am working with Acrobat 5.0. Above my Printing Tips button it says..

Postscript Options
Print Method= Language level 3
Optimize for Speed (checked)
Download Asian Fonts (checked) Save Printer Memory (unchecked)

Color Managed: On Host: U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2

Then on top under the Properties button..
Reverse Pages (grayed out)
Print as image (unchecked)
Print to file (unchecked)

Was the PSD in CMYK mode before you made it a jpg? Jpg is meant to be RGB, and that might cause problems (tho’ PDF can handle CMYK perfectly, it might have problems with the CMYK/JPG).

It was grayscale because it’s black/white only. I will try out the CMYK thing tho.

Thanks Don.
