My new instal of CS3 does not have FILE|Automate|Photomerge showing as an option. It did previously. It also lacks the icon to shift to Bridge. When I use the File command to start Bridge I get an error message about missing a JAVA script.
When I start Bridge (which appears to work) and try to send files to CS3 for Photomerge, it tells me that CS3 busy and asks if I want to queue up the work (even if CS3 is open).
I figure this is something simple, but it has me stumped. The knowledge base and FAQs don’t call up anything useful either.

Edit>menus.

Do you have Photoshop Defaults selected?

Which "defaults"?
Changing Workspace defaults does not appear to have any impact. I can clear out the preferences file.

Which "defaults"?

Under Edit > Menus… you select "Photoshop Defaults" under the Set drop-down.

This installation was just done on the new machine so it was still at the default settings. Hence, yes, these defaults and the workspace defaults are set.
I have also checked my former (and, I guess, still) production machine. It shows that under menu defaults as well as under several of the other settings I use from time to time the Menu under FILE| AUTOMATE is significantly different. Under the new instal I only have three options: batch, PDF presentation, & create droplet. Does that ring any bells? My "old" set up has 8 or 9 options.

Still no ideas? I may be forced to actually ask Adobe!

1. Delete your preferences as in the FAQ:

<http://www.adobeforums.com/webx/.ef4a07f/1>

2. Type regsvr32 jscript.dll in the run box and press Enter.

3. Then re-install.

Thank you, John. Worked like a charm. Although I now have an "extended" version of CS3. Can you share with me (us?) how this situation comes about?
