Hi everyone,

I’m brand new to CS3 and working with the trial version and trying do something as simple as setting a color for a layer (i.e. black or red). When I select the foreground or background icon I get the color picker then select the color and click ok… nothing changes. The Help feature was useless… what am I missing?

Thanks!

once you select the color, you need to apply it somehow. to fill an entire layer select the paint bucket and click somewhere on the image.

Once you get the color you want in the Color Picker you need to use it to fill or draw with or whatever5, If you want to fill the entire Layer with the Foreground color, Select All (Ctrl-A) and Fill (Alt-Delete).

That’s one way.

Perfect, thanks guys! Appreciate the keyboard shortcuts, too.
