After the installation I get the message Component Install Failed.

I have uninstalled Google desktop, disabled A/V and Firewall and ran the setup from my HDD.

I have ran CCleaner after the uninstallation to clean up the registry.

But still the problem persists!

You don’t give any information about your system (OS, Hardware, etc).

Do a forum search. There are at least a dozen recent posts on this topic and about as many possible solutions, apart from what you did.

Hi

I’m running Vista Home Premium 32 bit (X86)

I tried uninstalling all Adobe products, running CS3cleaner TWICE, restarting, and running Photoshop Setup.

Same results – Component install failed.

I haven’t got time to do your research for you but, from memory, try getting the latest Windows Installer 3.1, and try the trick of typing

regsvr32 jscript.dll

into the "Run" box and pressing enter.

This happened to a friend of mine – turned out to be a corrupt icc profile. After those were removed it installed fine. I wouldn’t be surprised if it could even be a corrupt font.
