Arial Black shows up for me just below Arial. If you don’t see it, perhaps your version of Arial Black is corrupt. One possible workaround: Select Arial and see if you have Black as a font style.
That’s just it, I do not. And if the font file was corrupt, why would I be able to access/use it in MS Word and not Photoshop?
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the font?

Because M$ is not so fussy.
Do you have Office 2007 installed? If so, some of the Arial variants are miscoded and don’t show up. I don’t remember all the details but the fix was find a machine with Office 2003 or earlier and copy the fonts from there.

Also, look through the entire listing. Occasionally CS will place fonts in different positions. (This assumes you have a reasonable number of fonts loaded, in the low hundreds and not thousands).
Thank you all for your responses thus far.
I’ll try to respond to all follow-up inquiries here …
I have tried uninstalling/re-installing the font – didn’t work.
I have Office 2003 on my computer.
I’ll check to see if Arial Black is somewhere else in the list. Would be interesting if it is – but it hasn’t caught my eye yet.
I have Office 2007 and Arial Black shows up in PSCS2.
