I would like to change the workspace to black from gray? Is there a way? Thanks, Bob

With an image open, go to the paint bucket tool and select it. Choose a color you want by clicking on the foreground color icon on the toolbox. Move the paint bucket tool off the edge of the image and Shift click with the paint bucket tool.

All you need to do is Command/Control + Click (or Right Click) on the area outside of your document to get the customizing options http://www.bittbox.com/photoshop/customize-the-color-of-your -photoshop-cs3-artboard/

Wes – Thanks a bunch! Simple, but I’d never have figured that out – Bob

Doesn’t CS3 have an easier way to do it… right clicking on the space and choosing a color?

Or so I’ve heard. Still using CS

It’s mentioned somewhere on John Nack’s blog. I couldn’t find it, but I know it’s there somewhere.

Ed & Freeagent, Y’all

I’ll be darned, yes CS3 does. Now I feel like a dumbbell! Right click the screen and there are the choices, gray, black & custom. A great day of learning for me – Thanks, Bob

There you go. I like gray, so I never looked.

BTW, if you happen to have two monitors, you can also get rid of that blue frame on the image window (in standard screen mode): main program window on secondary monitor, drag image window onto prime. Save as workspace and it’ll stick. Just found out – now that was a great day of learning for me.

I assume, dave, that you’ve seen the CS4 GUI posting on Nack:

I actually like it, it seems to have a quite business-like feel to it. The one thing I object to is the use of CAPS on the palette tabs. Given your attitude towards caps, I think we can agree on that…
