First you should note that no version of Adobe software is officially supported in XP64. Vista 64 does have some quasi support in CS3 but you’ve given us nothing at all, including what version of Photoshop you’re using.
That all out of the way, I’ve noticed some Type 1 fonts not displaying in some Adobe apps using Vista 64. My fix was to use the TrueType versions but you can try placing them in the private Adobe fonts folder.
Sorry, but I don’t know where it is in XP.

I recall reading an article about T1s not working under x64 in Adobe apps, I think the solution was to place duplicate T1s in the Adobe type folder, I think you can find it under ‘Programs/Common Files/Adobe/Fonts’. I think you can create shortcuts there if you are low on HD space.
You could try a tool called Typograf (www.neuber.com). It handles this just fine (at least for the few Type 1 fonts I had to use) and also makes a good management and previewing tool.

It works in Fireworks CS3, why not Photoshop?
Did you try the suggestions?
