Editing Paths

I’ve drawn a path with the pen tool then stroked it. Is there a way of editing that path so that the sroke updates (as you would pull a line/path about in Illustrator)? Or do I have to delete the old stroke and re-draw the path again and re-stroke it?

Stroked paths in Photoshop don’t work the way they do in Illustrator.

So, if you’ve committed a brush stroke to a path in PS, it’s there for good, and can’t move along with a path when you tweak it. You have to erase and re-stroke after you’ve tweaked the path.

HOWEVER!

If you create a Shape Layer with your Pen Tool, you can set the "fill" for that layer to 0%, and appy a Stroke to the path in the Layer Styles dialogue.

That way, the color of the Shape Layer doesn’t appear, but the stroke does. Edit the path that defines the shape, and the stroke will travel with it.

Unfortunately, though, with this method the only type of stroke you can get are limited to the things you can do in that part of the Layer Styles dialogue. No way to apply assorted brushes, or tweak the way the stroke as applied.
