Recently my Photoshop CS3 Extended has been taking an extremely long time to open files of all sizes as well as to create a new document. It takes several minutes to open files. While Photoshop is attempting to open, the program is unresponsive.

This happens when PS is looking for a network printer.

Try setting a local printer, or preferably a generic printer, as default.

Thanks so much. I changed my default printer and it is opening files much faster. The open dialog box is still taking a while to populate compared to the rest of the suite, but it is definitely a huge improvement.
