I need to use the radial blur on numerous layers with the same preset for zoom location. Once photoshop is closed, I have to relocate the zoom center. I’ve tried making a action to store the setting, a smart filter, and even using scriptlistener, but nothing will hole the zoom location. I doubt there is anything I can do, but Adobe should fix this bug or flaw.

While you’re waiting to hear from Adobe, here’s an idea that might work: an action that makes the canvas larger, moves the image to the center, runs radial blur, then crops the image.

I couldn’t figure out how to work around the edge issues with the expanded canvas method. Any ideas?

That’s not a bad idea to move the image to the blur center. It would have made my files huge. I ended up creating all the shapes I needed to blur about 34 files then making an action run in batch mose. Each file had to be run through the radial blur twice, It took over 10 hours to run the batch, but as long as I didn’t quite photoshop, the center of the blur stayed where I wanted it. Another thing I would like to see with this filter is to be able to dictate the direction of the rays as either in or out. Currently it blurred in both directions, but if you want an effect say like sunlight coming through window panes, gaps in trees ans so forth, you need to do a lot of editing on the blur that goes back towards the source.
