I am unable to select a certain size in the Options Bar and have the crop to that size. I have trashed the Prefs. with no luck. What am I doing wrong?

What dimensions are you trying to use? Are you using pixel dimensions or something else?

I am using inches, 4 X 6 inches.

4 X 6 inches could mean any number of things depending on the resolution.

Think about it. Photoshop deals in pixels. You can’t have a fraction of a pixel, thus there are measurements in inches or whatever that can’t be achieved. Try to think in terms of pixels.

Then why is it that in CS3 if my Ruler is set in inches and I type numbers into the Options Bar it will crop in inches? If the Ruler is set in Millimeters it will crop in Millimeters? The same with pixels?

It tries to approximate what you want. How far off is it? What’s the file’s resolution?
