hi guys. we just got a server and now everytime we open photoshop up it creates a folder called our username on the root of the server and we have to keep deleting it. it’s frustrating and also confusing as we have another folder deeper down the subdirectories on the server with this name so would rather photoshop didn’t keep making this folder.

how can i stop this? please someone help with this weird problem.

thanks.

Umm, what server? How do you connect? How do you handle user profiles? PS (or any other app for that matter) would only create folders, if it cannot find the user home directory or a valid temp directory, so it’s more or less a configuration issue with the server, its drive mapping and user permissions, I’d say.

Maybe you should drop by the ‘Photoshop Scripting’ forum.

the server is a NAS and it’s just mapped to X drive so in the office we save quite a bit of stuff on it instead of the pcs, but i don’t get why photoshop on startup creates a folder on drive X, there’s just no need for it to do so…

is there anyway to log what photoshop does on startup to find a cause?
