We’ve just posted Photoshop CS4 Help and Bridge CS4 Help on the web. We still have some work to do and bugs to fix, but we thought you might like to take an early peek.

To read about new features, go to the New Photoshop Features page, < http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Photoshop/11.0/WS9D1876FB-1856-4 f6b-B5C1-DE02ACF42B92.html>. And here’s a link to What’s new in Bridge CS4: < http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Bridge/3.0/WS9C8C8BB9-4F7D-4cae- AA25-7B325EABF481a.html>. These pages list the top new features, with links to detailed information about each.

Note that links to Getting Started video tutorials to some other Help documents are not functional yet, and commenting isn’t turned on. This will be fixed when the CS4 products ship. Search works now, and the quality of the results should improve as these new pages are crawled by Google.

TIP: Download the PDF from the upper-right corner of any Help page on the web. The PDF is great for when you’re offline or want to print a version of Help.

To talk about Photoshop CS4 and ask questions, use this forum. Or visit the Bridge user forum (http://adobeforums.com/cgi-bin/webx/.3bb8a3bf/).

For more info about the new Adobe Community Help system, see <http://community.adobe.com/help/about.html>.

Enjoy.

Apparently the converter remains separate from the desktop. Hence Adobe has chosen the Microsoft path of bloatware (cramming in more features that may or may not be better than what came before) rather than refining the interface which, in the case of Photoshop, has mutated into a three headed schizoid monster of overlapping features and inconsistent usage paradigms.
Four heads if you count Lightroom, which has arbitrary differences to its interface and tools compared to Photoshop.
At least so far there does not appear to be the ribbon of abomination a la Office.
