Hi, I’ve been sent the BETA version of CS4 and when it loads now I get a message saying "Some of the application components are missing from the Application directory, please reinstall the missing components."

I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled but to no avail. Any ideas anyone? How can I find out the missing components?

thanks in advance

Who sent it to you and why? The pre-release testing of CS4 has finished.

I’m a technical writer for a photographic magazine and it was sent as a review copy. I’ve sorted it now anyway. i changed the desktop icon to a shortcut one from program files and it works.

I’m interested from a curiosity point of view if anyone has an idea… Thanks.

What operating system? Missing components messages usually point to issues with user permissions. Also there may be interference from other Adobe tools in terms of shared libraries, e.g. some PDF libraries from a previously existing install of Acrobat 9. In any case, if you’re feeling adventurous, uninstall everything Adobe and try again. Your inside contact should also be able to provide you with clean scripts (yes, they do exist for CS4 as well) in case of larger install issues.
