Any bets that we will start to see postings on Oct 16 from people claiming that Adobe is unfair for not telling them this sooner?
maybe this should be made sticky for a few days bob. and bolded, or red-ed or otherwise made to stand out…
good call CM!
There you go…right to the top.
I still say nobody reads it.

You can always check in "Help > About" in most programs.
Many only come here to whine after the fact.
only come here to whine after the fact
That is true of ALL software (and hardware!) forums I’ve seen
People who are happy with their product usually don’t go to support forums
People who are UNhappy find a place to ask questions and/or complain
That is just the way things usually work

Its been 20 years since the first version.. wow.
Its been 20 years since the first version.. wow.
And I remember when you couldn’t set ppi/res higher than 266. We still have a few product pictures that haven’t been updated that are 266 res.
I have been using Photoshop for atleast 10 years, it’s amazing how things change.
In a test today, I found that you can still get an upgrade from Photoshop 7 to CS4, if you phone your order and get the right sales rep. If you try to order online or through a chat with the wrong sales rep they will deny the availability of an upgrade.
The sales rep I spoke with told me the release/upgrade was rushed through, so you are likely to find conflicting information from various reps.
Adobe seems to have lost the product registrations of some Photoshop 7 users, so those users were not informed of the upgrade deadline. A posting in the Adobe forums 11 days before a deadline is not sufficient notification. Some of us have to work for a living and don’t hang out in the forums every day.

That won’t last long.
I have Adobe Illustrator 7.0, we recently reformatted our hard drive due to viruses in our computer. Unfortunately I have lost my serial number for my Adobe Illustrator to reload it.
Adobe no longer supports Illustrator 7.0
Can you help me?
My name is Mary E. Frey/Pratt
I bought my edition of Adobe in 1999, it came with the Adobe Photo shop, Illustrator and fonts
It was a bait and switch. I was very specific when I told "Brett" that I wanted to upgrade from Photoshop 7 to CS4. He said "great, the upgrade is only $199." I even asked him again at the end of our conversation if the upgrade path was valid. He said yes. Now that I’ve paid for the upgrade to CS4, Adobe is telling me I cannot upgrade from PS7. I have to return the upgrade for a full version at $500 more.
Do not believe anything an Adobe sales rep tells you. Adobe does not stand behind them.
Roger – contact customer support, tell them what happened. They should arrange for you to return your upgrade and get you a refund.
Outsourcing – what more can I say?
It was a bait and switch.
No…it was an uninformed CSR.
Bob
If you registered it, then Adobe would have a record. If not, you’re pretty much out of luck.
Bob
Given that this thread is now attracting nothing but spam and the fact that CS4 has been out for a couple of months, I’m going to let this one die a natural death.
