My Matrox graphics card (M9125) has OpenGL 2 but not Shader Model 3. What will I not be able to do in Photoshop CS4 (not Extended), please?

Thanks.

I think you are going to have to ask Adobe unless you have CS4 and can install it and see if the GPU support option can be turned on. I am going guess that without both OpenGL and Shader that you won’t be able to use any of the GPU support. I am guessing it is an all or nothing sort of thing. Could be wrong.

You won’t be able to rotate the canvas, zoom smoothly and not get the fancy overlay preview on the clone stamp. You will laso not be able to use PixelBender effects. That pretty much covers it. And yes, Robert is right – it is an all or nothing thing and Matrox cards are not supported, so if you are interested in using these features, consider replacing your card with something from NVidia or ATI.

Thanks. Matrox tech people are looking into it but you have the answer already. I don’t know if it will matter to Matrox that their new range of cards aren’t fully compatible with CS4. It’s a pity. I’ll just have to go back to my 9600GT.
